The simplest solutions are often underrated. I use an app called evernote in english, a student records themselves reading a short text. Followed by listening to their own recording and writing what they hear. When done they look at the text to correct what they wrote.
It has worked out really well. It turns out that they record many times because they want the recording to sound good, so they are motivated to read out loud many times. Also the writing tha they did gets critically read by themselves.
The results looks good and special need students feel pleased about their work.
